The heart shatters and mends over and over in a lifetime—our choices, our regrets, our forgiveness. The heart is a mighty force that knows that love is the way.

This painting is called BEGIN AGAIN. I started painting her during an angry moment in my life. And as I sat for a while, I realized that grief was the true feeling beneath the anger. With that realization, I had compassion for myself and compassion for the person who received my anger. For in that moment, I was given the gift of clarity. I was given the gift of remembering to be more kind and compassionate with my words and my actions. I take full responsibility for my actions. I also know that I can always make another choice. And so I choose to BEGIN AGAIN.
