Refund and Returns Policy

Overview

My goal is to have happy collectors of my artwork.  If you’re not fully satisfied with your purchase, please contact me as soon as possible at irene@ireneshimizu.com or at (206) 419-8709.  My general refund and returns policy lasts 30 days from the date of purchase (please see return exception below for Original Artwork). 

Return Policy – Original Artwork

Before purchasing an original painting, please measure your wall space to ensure that you’ll be happy with the location and fit of your artwork.  If you’re not delighted with your original artwork, I will give you a full refund provided you contact me and ship the original artwork back within 7 days

For a full refund, the original artwork must be:

  • Returned in the same condition that you received it in; 
  • Packed in the original shipping container; and
  • Returned with all accompanying certificates and paperwork you received with your order. 

 

To complete your return, I require:

  • A receipt of proof of purchase;
  • Use of a trackable shipping service; 
  • Purchase of shipping insurance for the full value of the artwork (just as it was shipped to you). 

 

The customer will be responsible for paying all shipping costs related to returning the original artwork.  Shipping costs are non-refundable.  Please contact me for a return shipping address at irene@ireneshimizu.com or at (206) 419-8709.  

Return Policy – Giclée Prints and Cards

For a full refund, giclée prints and cards must be returned within 30 days from the date of purchase and:

  • Returned in the same condition that you received it in; and
  • Packed in the original shipping container (or comparable).

 

To complete your return, I require:

  • A receipt of proof of purchase; and
  • Use of a trackable shipping service.

 

The customer will be responsible for paying all shipping costs related to returning the giclée prints and cards.  Shipping costs are non-refundable.  Please contact me for a return shipping address at irene@ireneshimizu.com or at (206) 419-8709.  

Refunds

Once your return is received and inspected, I will send you an email to notify you that I have received your returned item. I will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within 7-10 business days.

Late or missing refunds

If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.

Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

Next, contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Items Damaged in Transit

When your artwork, prints or cards is delivered, if you notice any damage to the packaging, please take a photo of the damage before you open the painting.  If possible, open the box in front of the carrier who delivered it.  

Photograph any damage to the artwork, prints, or cards and contact me immediately at irene@ireneshimizu.com or at (206) 419-8709.  Be sure the carrier documents the damage.
