A special song can easily transport us to a different time and place. Music is a memory. Music is a bridge. Music is a healing balm to the soul.

This trio of paintings, MAGENTA RHAPSODY, is in honor of my father who made his transition in October 2023.

My father introduced me to all kinds of music as a kid. I was not musically gifted, but I sure appreciated the music that was played throughout our house. Dad liked the Big Band sound like The Glenn Miller Orchestra and Benny Goodman Band, or Jazz like Ella Fitzgerald and Nat King Cole or talented musicians like Carlos Santana and Herb Alpert and The Tijuana Brass. Now I’m sharing and teaching my son about amazing music before both our time, and also what my father taught me.

MAGENTA RHAPSODY came forth as the summer weather faded and the fall winds began to whisper and blow quiet messages through the trees. These vibrant colors spoke to my heart of the upcoming time of change, transitions, and gratitude for all the memories created over the years.
